How much does a taxi to O'Hare or Midway cost from my town?
Every fare is a published flat rate set by your pickup town and the airport you are heading to. Naperville to O'Hare is $78, Schaumburg is $48 and Aurora is $84. Look your town up on our fare list, or text us and we will confirm the exact figure before you book.
How is a flat rate different from a metered cab fare?
A meter charges a base fare plus a rate for every mile, so traffic, detours and roadworks all push the price up while you sit and watch it climb. Our fare is fixed the moment you book, so the route on the day makes no difference to what you pay.
How much does a taxi charge per mile?
We do not charge by the mile for airport trips. Metered cabs add a per mile rate on top of a base fare, plus waiting time whenever traffic slows. Your fare with us is a single fixed number, set by your town and quoted in full before you agree to it.
How much would a cab cost for a short trip of about 5 miles?
On a meter a 5 mile trip is the base fare plus the per mile rate, plus whatever is added while you sit in traffic, so the total moves with the route and the time of day. We quote short suburb to suburb trips as one flat price, agreed before you travel.
Can I get a fare quote before I book anything?
Yes, and it takes about a minute. Call or text (224) 622-7653 with your pickup town and destination and we will send you the exact flat rate. Our fare list also shows the O'Hare, Midway and Chicago Loop price for every town we serve, side by side.
Do you charge surge pricing at busy times?
No. Rideshare apps raise their prices in rush hour, in bad weather and on holidays. Our rates do not move at all. The fare you are quoted when you book is the fare you pay, whether you travel at 4am on a Monday or on the Friday before Thanksgiving.
What extra charges could be added to my fare?
Two are standard, and both are explained when you book. Tolls are added depending on your route, and a $10 to $15 surcharge applies to pickups between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Extra stops and larger groups can also affect the price, so tell us up front.
How much is a taxi from O'Hare or Midway to downtown Chicago?
Into the Chicago Loop it is a flat $64 from either airport, and the same fare applies coming back out again. Tolls and the late night surcharge may be added depending on your route and the time, so ask us to confirm the full total at the time you book.

Do I have to book in advance?
Yes, on every ride. Advance booking is what lets us guarantee you a driver and an on time pickup rather than leaving you waiting and hoping. Book as early as you can for early morning departures and late night arrivals, which are always the first slots to go.
How do I book a ride?
Call or text (224) 622-7653, or use the booking forms on this site. From Airport needs your flight number, airline and destination town. To Airport needs your pickup address, time, vehicle type and passenger count. Either form takes about a minute.
How far ahead should I book for an early morning flight?
The earlier the better. Pickups at 3am, 4am and 5am fill first, especially on Monday mornings and around holidays, and only so many drivers are out at that hour. Booking a few days ahead is far safer than leaving it until the night before you fly.
What happens if my flight is delayed or lands early?
Give us your airline and flight number when you book and we follow your arrival, so your driver's timing follows the plane rather than the original schedule. Call or text us once you have collected your luggage and are ready to be picked up.

Where do I meet my driver at O'Hare or Midway?
Call or text once you have your luggage and your driver will confirm the exact door and lane for your terminal. Pickup points differ between domestic and international arrivals and they change, so we confirm the meeting point on the day itself.
Can you take me from the airport into downtown Chicago?
Yes. We cover the Chicago Loop as well as both airports, and the Loop fare is already published for every town on our list. Some suburban taxi firms will not run into the city at all, so it is worth checking that with anyone before you book a ride into the Loop.

Which suburbs and counties do you cover?
More than 180 towns across Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties, from Evanston and Oak Park out to Aurora, Elgin, Crystal Lake and Joliet. If your town appears on our published fare list, we cover it and the price is already fixed.
Do you serve the far northwest suburbs?
Yes. Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Cary, Huntley, Wauconda, Barrington, Carpentersville, Elgin and South Elgin all have published fares to both airports. The distance changes the flat rate you pay, but nothing at all about how the booking itself works.
Do you handle trips that are not going to an airport?
Yes. Airport runs are most of our work, but we also cover suburb to suburb trips, group rides and one off journeys of most kinds. These are quoted individually, so send us your pickup point, destination, date and time through the custom inquiry form.
Practical details
Payment, vehicles, and who we are.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash and all major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. You settle up with the driver at the end of the trip. Mention it when you book if you will need a receipt for an expense claim or company records afterwards.
What size vehicles are available?
Sedans, SUVs and minivans. Choose your vehicle type when you book and tell us the passenger and luggage count so that we send something that actually fits. Larger groups can affect the price, so give us the full numbers when you book rather than on the day.
Are you the same company as other Chicago taxi firms with similar names?
No. Chicago American Taxi Cab is an independent, family run company and is not connected to any similarly named taxi firm in Chicago or the suburbs. Booking on (224) 622-7653 or through this website is the only way to be sure you have reached us.
